Support for job hunting

Background

As the purposes of employment and the ways of achieving work-life balance continue to diversify, there is an increasing need to create environments where temporary staff are able to choose jobs that suit them, based not only on skills and job description but also on their individual sense of values.

Initiative Outline and Objectives

To help temporary staff live the life that best suits them, we provide opportunities to choose places of work and working hours that are appropriate for the circumstances and values of the individuals concerned. We also provide a broad range of job postings to enable temporary staff to select the job they want to do at any time so that they can achieve their desired career.
In addition, we do not simply mechanically match the skills of our temporary staff with the personnel requirements of our clients. Instead, we provide job placement in a way that suits each person based on their individual preferences and the corporate cultures of our clients, and incorporate a unique concept we refer to as fitting to provide close-at-hand, ongoing employment support.

Specific Measures

A portal site that enables job searches
based on a variety of parameters

Our portal site, which offers the largest number of job postings in the industry, enables job searches based on working conditions as well as on job content, the characteristics of the client company, the skills required, and a variety of other parameters. This allows temporary staff to search for jobs that suit them based on a broad range of factors, including their past work experience, work-life balance, and the skills they wish to acquire in the future.
The portal received approximately 210 million views during the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024, an increase of roughly 14% over the previous year. Approximately 8 million users visit the portal annually.
In addition, the portal’s new AI-driven career history input support function allows users to enter their work experience without any omissions, even in the online registration format where no interview is conducted with the job seeker. As a result, the percentage of job seekers registering online increased, and the percentage of job referrals to online registrants also increased by 8% compared to the previous fiscal year.

We leverage technology,
while also providing extensive employment support
through the direct involvement of our employees

テクノロジーの活用にくわえ、
社員の目と手を通じた手厚い就業サポート

At PERSOL TEMPSTAFF, we make use of a variety of technologies, including accumulating and analyzing data on temporary staff skills and preferences as well as Temp App, a smartphone application for temporary staff that facilitates employment-related procedures. At the same time, our employees also provide temporary staff with access to better job postings by acting as intermediaries between employers and temporary staff, providing face-to-face counseling before introducing positions and sending individual offer emails based on the specific needs of employers.
When employment-related counseling is needed as well as in the event of a problem with an employer following job placement, our employees strive to ensure prompt resolution and prevent recurrence through direct involvement.
In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024, we added a chat function and consultation service to the TEMPSTAFF app with the aim of facilitating even more timely communication between our employees and temporary staff currently on assignment. The TEMPSTAFF app is used by approximately 62% of staff currently working on job assignments. The chat function enables temporary staff on dispatch and our PERSOL TEMPSTAFF agents to share status updates and information smoothly, and the app also provides access to a career consultation service, giving temporary staff an easy way to discuss their future career plans. From the fiscal year ending April 2025, we plan to further strengthen consultation channels where temporary staff can discuss any problems or concerns by launching a Staff Concierge Desk to ensure our staff are able to start their job assignments smoothly and continue working with peace of mind.

At PERSOL CROSS TECHNOLOGY, after a career advisor has interviewed a temporary staff member and introduced them to a job, we ask the temporary staff member to complete a survey to gauge their level of satisfaction with the interview. This evaluation is immediately fed back to the career advisor in order to help them better respond to the needs of job seekers.

Creating a system for
achieving mid- to long-term careers

We are working to enhance the mid- to long-term career support available to temporary staff currently under assignment. From the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024, PERSOL TEMPSTAFF established a team of career advisors with specialized training and certification who are available to discuss career matters with temporary staff on a range of occasions. The service has received around 40% more consultations than originally anticipated, with positive feedback from temporary employees using the service, such as “Thanks to the session, my worries disappeared, and I was able to set career goals,” and “The advisor helped me to identify my potential and strengths.”

Another initiative launched in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024 was the gradual deployment, starting from major cities, of “life career advisors” who provide temporary staff who have been transitioned to permanent employment with mid- to long-term career support. These advisors provide temporary staff with counseling on their current employment, as well as suggestions on how to link their current activities with a brighter future based on their long-term goals. Feedback has been positive, with comments from users such as “The advisor helped me understand the keys to finding satisfaction through my work” and “I now have a clearer idea of the type of work I want to do and my career direction.”

At PERSOL CROSS TECHNOLOGY, temporary staff who have transitioned to permanent employment meet with a career advisor once every four to six months to discuss their future career plans. These sessions are not just job introductions, but aim to help employees reflect on their careers to date and clarify their future career aspirations.
