PERSOL Group's Journey
PERSOL Group originated from "Tempstaff" (now PERSOL TEMPSTAFF) was established in 1973 by founder Yoshiko Shinohara at Roppongi in Tokyo for women who lacked working opportunities despite having the ability and desire to work.
Since then, with a corporate philosophy of "Thorough Providing Working Opportunity, Realize Individual Growth and Social Contribution". PERSOL Group has grown through M&A and business integrations. After many companies with the same minds joined the Group, the businesses have expanded from a temporary staffing business, its origin to the "doda" branded placement and job advertisement, designing/R&D and IT outsourcing businesses, etc.
In 2016, new brand "PERSOL" was established, and in 2017, the company and its core subsidiaries changed their names to prefix "PERSOL".
PERSOL Group Up To Now
While working as a secretary in Australia, Ms. Shinohara was deeply impressed when she saw temporary staff (dispatch staff) working by utilizing specialist skills as part of a life-style choice. Shinohara then established Tempstaff in 1973 aiming to "create a woman-friendly working environment". Shinohara rented a 25m2 room in Roppongi, Tokyo that doubled as her office and apartment; starting with just a phone and a desk. Shinohara started by going around and about on cold-calls clasping home-made sales leaflets in one hand, while also trying to secure financing. One year after launch sales were JPY 30 million. And at the 1 year mark the company ended up in the black: but only just.
